Consumer writes in regards to engine malfunction and seeks financial assistance for repairs from manufacturer. *smd the consumer stated due to excessive oil consumption, the dealer informed her, the vehicle needed a new engine, or she could add a quart of oil every week. Although, she has complied with the maintenance standards, toyota decided to ignore what was seemingly a manufacturing defect. Toyota did offer $1500 towards a nearly $6,300 new engine was unacceptable. The consumer stated the excessive oil consumption problem dated back to april 2013, when the oil pan light illuminated and continued to illuminate every two months. |
