Description of the problemI have a 2007 camry xle with 13,000 miles. From the first day i purchased the car, it has had a severe hesitation when attempting to accelerate both from a stop and at highway speeds (passing, merging into traffic). In addition, the automatic transmission seems to slip between 2nd and 3rd gear (approximately 20 to 25 mph) before it locks into gear and begins to accelerate. This is most noticeable when the engine is cold. I told the toyota service department about the problems at my last oil change. They hooked it up to the computer and test drove and were not able to replicate the transmission slippage problem. I was also told that the acceleration delay was due to the computer needing to communicate with the engine, and this was a normal delay and that i would "just have to get used to it". On several occasions this delay in acceleration has almost caused me to be in an accident. *jb
