| Description of the problem | 08/15/12, my 2007 toyota camry caught fire without warning. While driving on the highway, the radio as well as all the gauges on the dash went completely dead for about 5 seconds then returned to normal. I exited the highway, and arrived at my destination within 2 minutes. I parked and exited the vehicle and 10 minutes later the car was engulfed in flames. The dealership reported that the fire started in the electrical box and appeared to be a mechanical defect. There was no aftermarket equipment added to the vehicle. The vehicle was serviced by the dealer 8 weeks prior to this incident. |
