| Description of the problem | The vehicle is a 2007 toyota camry xle sedan. While driving locally, the electronic instrument cluster in front of the driver which contains all of the operational information about the vehicle (speedometer, tachometer, fuel and oil gauges, all safety monitoring indicators, odometer, etc.) had a total power failure. Everything went totally black and nothing was visible. About 5 seconds later, everything returned to normal operation. The failure is not reproducible for the car dealership to diagnose, so they do not know how to fix it or where to start looking. This would seem to represent a serious safety hazard where the driver is suddenly operating the vehicle "blind".*cw |
