Description of the problem	The dashboard in my solara started to melt under the sun. My vehicle is garage kept and is maintained properly. The dash shows nicks if you hit it with something like a fingernail. I contacted toyota as i had the dash replaced and my dealer wrote the problem was material defect. I had to pay the labor of over $400 as my dealer absorbed the cost of the dash. Toyota brushed me off and refused to even pay half the cost. This is a serious problem and we the customer shouldn't have to pay for a mistake by toyota. I know i am not the only person with this problem as my daughter's 2009 camry has the same issue. A recall needs to be done so toyota accepts responsibility for this problem.
