Description of the problem	On the date in question, i was standing still at a red light. There was heavy rain. When the light turned green i proceeded through the intersection. The vehicle in front of me was approximately 5 car-lengths ahead of me. Traffic suddenly came to an abrupt stop. I hit my brake, skidded the entire distance between myself and the vehicle stopped in front of me and hit it in the rear. My entire front-end was smashed in; the vehicle i hit was a late model ford explorer which sustained no damage. There were no injuries, however, my air bag did not deploy, my entire front end was demolished after proceeding a short distance at a low rate of speed. There were fluids leaking and smoke emanating from under the hood. The was declared by the police to be undriveable and had to be towed to a repair shop.
