| Description of the problem | Tl*the contact owns a 2006 toyota camry solara. The vehicle has bridgestone turanza el400-02, size p215/55r17 tires. While driving approximately 66 mph, the contact suddenly noticed white smoke coming from the front passenger side tire. The vehicle then felt as if it were riding on the rim. He pulled to the side of the road and discovered that the tire was almost completely melted. He also noticed rubber debris on the ground and that the fender had black marks. When the tire cooled down, he placed the spare tire on the vehicle. The contact has not yet brought the tire to the dealer. The current and failure mileages were 7,800. The firestone dealer stated the tread punctured, pressure was lost and heat burned out the sidewall. Updated 11/15/07. *jb |
