| Description of the problem | We have a 2004 toyota solara. Recently we have noticed several cracks/fractures in the dash board, primarily on the passenger side of the vehicle. Research has shown that this is a common problem with this model year. Toyota maintains the situation is cosmetic and not covered under warranty or recall. Our concern is this is a possible safety issue, as the passenger side airbag is deployed through the dashboard. If the dashboard is weakened by this cracking. Would this increase the possibility the airbag deploying incorrectly, thus raising the possibility of injury or death? We have a disabled daughter that frequently sits in the passenger side of the vehicle and we want to make sure the situation is safe for her. |
