Description of the problem | Wife was driving on freeway in scottsdale when a small rock impacted lower left of windshield. Over the period of 2 hours a crack 3 feet long developed across drivers side of windshield. There are numerous reports of this happening on the internet for the camry hybrid since 2007. This appears to be manufacturers defect in engineering design or manufacture. Toyota is not addressing the issue, since they make a lot of money on the windshield replacement (>$1,200 for a windshield? Give me a break). Have numerous rock chips in windshields of other vehicles that do not result in this type of damage. |
