| Description of the problem | Upon traveling through nash, tx on november 5, 2013, the oil light on my 2007 toyota avalon came on. The leaking line over the right front wheel busted. I pulled into robbins toyota. I spoke with service consultant [xxx]. He asked me what the problem was and i stated my oil light came on and i was experiencing an oil leak. He said he knew what is was and got my information and how i was going to pay. I told him cash, credit, or check. Then he asked where i was from. I told him georgia. He said he had the part to fix it and i asked [xxx] how much it would cost me? He replied $400. I said that sounds like a lot for a 6 inch hose. He stated i could have it fixed somewhere else but they had the part in stock. I said you know i cant drive this car like this so go ahead and fix it. They fixed it but only charged me $339. I was there for two hours and they charged me with two and a half hours. According to toyota it should take less than an hour. I received a letter from toyota on november 29, 2014 that this part on my 2007 year model toyota had been recalled. The letter stated if the part had not been replaced make an appointment to have it replaced by december 31, 2021. I sent all the information the letter stated and was sent a letter back saying i was declined for not sending everything that was asked. On january 8, 2015, i contacted my local dealership and he sent over all the information again and explained to them that i traded the car in june 2014. My case number is 1412170721. We never heard back on my case as of march 24, 2015. The letters received were from toyota motor sales, u. S. A., inc. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6). |
