| Description of the problem | Complete failure of a carlile parking brake system. Motor home rolled down my driveway. Parts are no longer available to repair. Motor home had to be converted to a manual parking system and the allison transmission had to be modified (retrofitted) by the installation of a parking pawl. Freightliner corp. Was very aware of this problem, immediately saying they would pay for their parts. I was responsible for labor and all costs to allison. Family motor coach had a forum where this very issue was discussed. Still no recall. I am a widow, traveling alone. This is a safety hazard; what if the coach had rolled and killed someone? Who would be responsible? I should not have to pay the full cost of this repair when this is blatant neglect and no fault of mine. Updated 06/15/2017*js |
