| Description of the problem | On two separate occasions i was startled by a loud pop kind of noise coming from the windshield area while driving. Absolutely nothing was around to cause this either time and nothing whatsoever has hit the windshield since i've owned this car. I am the sole driver. On both occasions, i was driving down a straight road going 50mph on my way to work (a 10 minute commute). The morning after the second occurrence, i got into my car to find a crack on the lower passenger side of my windshield about 2/3s of the way down and starting from the outer edge. There had been no crack or any hint that something would happen when i left my car the day before. How does a crack just appear overnight with absolutely nothing to cause it? I have never in my life had this happen. The car was absolutely stationary, no nearby trees or anything that could cause any impact. Due to covid, the crack sat for quite some time, when i finally got to make it to the suburu dealership where i bought my car, they denied my claim. The techs said they could find no chip or origination for the crack... (because there wasn't one) the techs agreed it should have been covered under the warranty but suburu still denied my claim. I'm now out $1103. 00 |
