Description of the problemAbout mid september my son took the car in due to a noise he heard, was advised that it was the serpentine belt & needed to be replaced. Had the recommended service done.. Heard noise again and returned car, was advised "tech can not duplicate noise". Took car back 3rd time and made tech get into car with him to go for ride.. Tech now hears noise and advises my son to leave the car, you'll have it back in an hour. A couple hours later he gets a call advising that they couldn't diagnose the problem and would contact a field engineer to respond to this dealership and would give him a loaner car. When asked over the phone whether he could drive his car he was advised the "car was unsafe". We were advised that the transmission problem was diagnosed over the phone when we went to pick up the loaner car. When asked if we are getting a refund for a replacement belt that was not bad we were advised that "there was a known problem with the belts but there was no recall". Noise would start at 15mph and above.
