| Description of the problem | Upon filling my 2007 nissan xterra on july 11, 2011, i noticed that my service engine light was on and that my fuel gauge registered near zero. As i drove away the fuel gauge gradually rose to indicate a full tank. When i went to my nissan dealer to check the error code he indicated that the problem was in the "fuel sending unit". Which would cost $300-$400 to repair since i had just exceeded the extended warranty mileage coverage limitations. In reading the descriptions of other owners of nissan trucks and suvs it appears that this is a systemic problem and needs to be addressed through a factory recall. |
