Description of the problem	I have a 2007 nissan xterra that i just bought in sept. '10. It now has about 39,000 miles on it. I was a little under 1/4 a tank of gas the other day so i went and filled it up. When i restarted my vehicle, the gas gauge went right back to the position it was in before i filled up. I turned the vehicle off and then back on and it still read the same. Thinking my float was stuck or something, i just went on driving. After awhile, the gauge went to empty and the warning light came on. I went to put more gas in but it would only take about 2 gallons. Then the 'service engine soon light' came on and now it won't go off. The gas gauge will sometimes go up to full (even if i've drove 100 miles on that tank) and sometimes it will go all the way to empty. It fluxuates up and down with no rhyme or reason and it will do it in a matter of seconds. I have put sea breeze fuel cleaner stuff in the tank but so far it has not helped.
