| Description of the problem | 2006 nissan xterra fuel gauge misreads current amount of fuel in tank (i currently have a full tank and it reads empty on the gauge) this problem has been happening every time i filled my tank, which is often because i commute over 100 miles a day. I have called nissan because there is a current recall for the fuel sending unit, which they admit is causing the problems, however my 2006 nissan xterra is not in included in the recall meant for 2006 xterras, causing me to pay for the unit out of my own pocket, which is roughly $400. I see this as a problem since i cannot have an accurate reading on my fuel gauge, it may cause my vehicle to stall in traffic. There are many other nissans with this same problem. |
