Description of the problem	Fuel gauge showed 1/4 full and the car stopped with no gas. Filled up from a container brought by my daughter and drove to the gas station to fill up. Tank full and the gauge shows empty with the empty light on and then the ses light also turned on. Took the car to get a reading of the codes and comes out has fuel pump sender unit which controls the fuel gauge. The solution so far is to control the gas using the mile counter. Concerned about the possibility of the pump stop working while driving. 2006 xterra. 44k miles.
