Description of the problem	We own a 2006 nissan xterra with approximately 55k miles. Along with thousands of others, we are experiencing the same problem of a faulty fuel level sensor. Our model has 2 fuel gauges--1 electronic that estimates the number of miles remaining ("dte") and 1 standard fuel gauge (f----e). After filling the tank, both gauges had intermittent issues. A few fills later, both gauges indicate an empty tank. Everyone seems to experience this problem shortly after the 30,000 mile warranty has expired, forcing the consumer to spend ~$500 to fix the issue. Since it is clearly a faulty part, nissan needs to recall this part or fix it for free when this specific issue is identified. My pregnant wife drives our xterra daily and i do not feel safe allowing her to drive a car with absolutely no fuel gauge. However, i refuse to pay $500 for a part that was faulty from the start, as demonstrated by the thousands of posts we have found indicating error po463. Thank you for your attention to this widespread and potentially damaging issue.
