Description of the problem	About 5 minutes and approximately 3 miles after refueling my 2006 nissan x-terra, the fuel gauge dropped to empty and the "low fuel light" came on. After leaving it parked for 20 minutes, i returned to the truck and when i started it the service engine soon light came on and the fuel gauge was still at empty. When i hooked the truck up to a diagnostic computer it said the fuel sending unit was bad. I looked this problem up on the web to see if any other x terra owners have had this problem. I found loads of websites with owners accounts of their problems with the fuel sending unit on xterras frontiers and pathfinders. My truck has 62000 miles and this problem is not covered under any type of warranty. The nissan dealer wants $99. 00 just to look at it. If this fuel sending unit fails while i am driving isn't it a major safety problem?
