| Description of the problem | Coming off a highway at around 50 mph the yellow check engine light came on and the engine started making a "popping" sound and jerking as if misfiring. Connected a code reader to truck and 5 issues were found. Engine codes p0544, p244d, p242d & p242c were listed stating "exhaust gas temp sensor" and "exhaust temp high for dpf" along with code p0204 "number 4 fuel injector circuit open". Had vehicle towed to dealership and the diesel mechanic stated the "graved connector f131 on cylinder #4 was at fault and that the connector "spread terminals were causing poor contact with injector". Stated the engine control harness (wiring harness), needed replacing. Vehicle had only ~62500 miles on it at the time. |
