Description of the problem	2008 nissan titan le 4x4 long wheel base... Knocking sound began while my husband was driving on the interstate 55-70 mph. Next day a whine developed on acceleration / deceleration. Noted leaks at front and rear seals on differentials. Took to dealer; without removing inspection covers diagnosed failed rear assembly. Stated fairly common - told to pursue my complaint for assistance from nissan north america customer service. Fluids added -- when my husband left the dealership the whining deteriorated into a constant banging consistent with speed. Husband was close to home and drove the vehicle at 30 mph to our driveway. At this point the vehicle has developed a hard shudder. Ii was fortunate that the failure did not occur at highway speed as he drives 50k per year on the interstate and given the gryo type shudder now noticeable at 30 mph one can imagine what a fragmented differential and loose drive shaft might have done. Will tow it to the dealership for repair when the rear assembly comes in. I will also ask the dealer to save my old parts for me.
