| Description of the problem | Had informed nissan two months after purchase at 1700 miles, of loud "clunk" noise in rear axle when traveling over bumps or potholes as well as tightness and noise from the steering column. Nissan stated nothing was wrong with the rear but replaced a defective rack and pinion assembly. During a routine oil change at 34000 miles the differential was found to be leaking from both rear axle seals and the pinion seal. Nissan dealership verified the problem on 6/11/10, replaced both rear axle shaft assemblies, and replaced the pinion seal. |
