| Description of the problem | The driver side rear leaf spring shackle came apart at the weld and the back of the leaf spring punched up through the bed of my truck. This happened while driving and was not accompanied by any loud noise or any indication that something had gone drastically wrong. This is a 4x4, off-road/work truck. These shackles should never break, let alone only after 3 winters. Upon further inspection, i also found that the passenger side rear leaf spring shackle is showing signs of stress and cracking. I had it towed to a nissan dealer and was told they could not do anything for me. I called nissan customer care and haven't heard any info from them either. I have had truck towed out of nissan dealer and have obtained some heavy-duty aftermarket shackles which i plan to install. |
