| Description of the problem | Left rear axle seal failed at 29,900 miles (1. 5 years ago) and entire rear end/axle assembly was replaced by nissan dealership. Now have driven 48,000 and the replacement axle seal on the left side (same as before) has started leaking and must be replaced. There have been no suspension modifications to this vehicle and it has never been used for towing or any type. Rear differential leaks and can cause failure of rear end and possible accident from sudden stop caused by axle locking up. Rear differential fluid also leaks on real brake rotors and emergency brakes and could cause brake failure. Several similar incidents of this same failure can be found online and it appears to be a significant safety issue with this vehicle (2006 nissan titan). |
