| Description of the problem | Driving north on the highway @ 70mph, vehicle backfired and engine shut down, no power steering or brakes. Moved vehicle off the highway, cranked but would not start. Left vehicle for the day and returned and replaced a recalled (but known good replacement) ecm relay and vehicle started and ran correctly but showed ses light and code showed p0335 crk pos sensor. This vehicle had a catastrophic failure while driving which represented a serious hazard to both the driver and surrounding vehicles should the driver has panicked in this situation and heavy traffic. To date the vehicle is a nissan facility and still has not been repaired at great expense and inconvenience to the owner. |
