Description of the problem | My vehicle is experiencing violent shaking of the steering wheel under braking. Nissan has identified that 2004 and early 2005 titans were built with brake rotors that are too small, resulting in the rotors warping due to overheating. Nissan calls this issue brake juddering and has issued three technical service bulletins regarding fixing the problem by installing an upgraded (bigger rotors) brake kit. Nissan extended the brake warranty for this issue to 36 months/36,000miles. I am under the mileage limit (31,000) but have exceeded the time limit by one month. This is a serious safety issue and i feel they need to be willing to replace the rotors for any vehicle originally equipped with the undersized rotors. I have taken the vehicle to my local nissan service department and they have confirmed that my rotors are warped and recommend replacement. |
