Description of the problem	There was a noise from the rear of the truck and an odd odor. It almost felt like a transmission slip once in a while driving. I drove it home as the noise was getting worse and had it towed to the dealer. Their tech drove it off the lot to "check it out" after i told them about the problem and that it was getting worse. The rear end blew out and sprayed fluid all over the undercarriage, the back of the tailgate, everywhere. The dealer just said it had to be replaced. Period. This truck is well maintained by the same dealership and i am told that the rear end/differential is sealed at the factory and is not a part of a maintenance item. It is not used for towing, off roading or anything else like that. I am the only one who drives the truck. I think it would have been very dangerous had it gone out while i was driving it. The dealership had to have it towed back to the shop. It is my understanding that this is a rather common problem based on the complaints that have been filed. It is also an expensive problem at $2300. 00 in my estimation. I requested that they keep the part for further evaluation.
