| Description of the problem | During visit for oil change and tire rotation, a service center pointed out that the driver's side real axle shaft seal was leaking. Took it to the dealer and was informed that since the vehicle had 68,000 miles on it, the repair would not be covered by warranty. The back-side of the rotor was saturated with differential fluid. Additionally, the emergency brake shoes were completely saturated with differential fluid, reducing the ability of the parking brake to hold the vehicle. Took vehicle to service center for repair which included replacement of the axle shaft seal, axle shaft bearing, axle shaft bearing spacer, and parking brake shoe & lining. It should also be noted that the rear pinion seal failed at 16,700 miles and was replaced under warranty. |
