Description of the problemTail pipe fell off while driving on the interstate 2 weeks after nissan performed their 27 point inspection, which supposedly included checking the muffler, exhaust pipes and mountings. A second nissan dealership (out of town) informed us that this was a common occurrence and was actually talking to another nissan titan owner that had the exact same thing happen. The out of town dealership mechanic explained to me that the clamps they use to hold the tail pipe on just behind the muffler, rust off?? So why do they use them??? Upon returning home we called the nissan dealership that performed the 27 point inspection (????) he skirted the issue that the box for the "muffler, exhaust pipes and mountings" inspection was checked off as "checked and okay" and informed us that it was a costly fix. Nothing was done to repair the vehicle and no apologies were made for the obvious overlook of a rusty clamp that could have caused an accident had it fallen completely off, especially traveling at high speeds on a busy interstate on labor day weekend, had we not heard the clanging of the pipe banging against the underside of the truck.
