Description of the problem | Tl*the contact owns a 2005 nissan titan. The contact stated that smoke and fire appeared under the dash while the vehicle was off, but the keys were still in the ignition. Her husband reached in through the driver's side window because the door would open from the outside. Once the door was opened, he used sand to extinguish the fire. The fire was contained to under the dashboard. The dealer stated that they were unaware of any similar fire complaints with that year, make, and model vehicle. After inspecting the vehicle, the dealer stated that there was a short in the bcm that may have caused the fire. The dealer stated that the manufacturer was sending an investigative team to the dealer to confirm the findings. The vehicle is currently at the dealer and no repairs have been made.
