Description of the problem	Attempted to stop while traveling down parking garage ramp. When brake pedal was depressed it went to the floor and the audible sound of the anti-lock brake system (abs) pump cycling. At this point there was no braking power. Pedal was lifted and brakes where applied again. Again, the pedal dropped to the floor and the audible abs pump could be heard. At this point driver had to decide to crash the car into a concrete column to prevent larger accident into payment booth. Driver continued into a concrete column at approximately 15 - 20 mph and crashed. Airbags deployed. Vehicle had to be towed from scene. After accident, mechanic repairing vehicle informed the driver of technical service bulletin (tsb) 452131 pertaining to this same issue, "antilock brake system (abs) code c1179. Intermittent brake pedal supposedly goes to the floor. Tech has not experienced".
