Description of the problemProblem started gradually as occasional noises, such as "clunking" and rattling, from the wheels while driving. Took vehicle in to dealer who could not find the problem. One day later while driving, heard awful grating noise from wheels and abs/vdc light came on. Took vehicle to dealer who stated that the emergency brake pad broke loose and destroyed the rotor, the abs sensor, etc. ($1,200 in damage). During the two weeks after service, the brake light has illuminated about 3 or 4 times. When the light is on, the brakes react as if in abs mode and grip and grind while stopping. Turning off the vehicle usually makes the light go off and the brakes then operate normally. The vehicle is currently back at the dealer, who stated they do not know what is wrong as they have not been able to re-create the problem.
