Description of the problem	2 occurances, the aebs system engaged/decellerated while traveling 35 mph with no vehicles on either side of the roadway-warning on the display were activated. This ocurred on a city street. 2nd event - ocurred on a city street while i was already slowing for a vehicle stopped at a red light at an intersection more 4 car lengths ahead. The aebs engaged, clearly sensing the abs system was engaged, the brake pedal became unresponsive as if the engine was off. Traveling 15 mph when this began. The vehicle ahead of me was struck, the brake pedal still unresponsive caused a second contact with the vehicle while the vehicle was still in abs mode. The brakes were not pumped during this entire incident. No injuries, but considerable damage to vehicle #1.
