| Description of the problem | In 2017 nissan rogue there is corrosion/rust at the connection between the lift gate support strut bracket and vehicle body. The rear lift gate strut provides power to assist rear lift gate mechanism and operates under pressure. If the interface is insufficient or the structure is compromised due to rust it may cause failure of the lift mechanism. It could result in inability to open or close the lift gate but more importantly result in bodily injury. I have been in contact with nissan to report the issue and guidance to remedy the issue. My claim was denied as i was informed by nissan that the rust described above is not covered under warranty as i am 2 months and 10,000 out of coverage. |
