Description of the problem	I was headed south on the i-5 (southern california, lots of constant traffic) when my car stopped accelerating after about 45 minutes. Going uphill, i put my pedal to the floor and wasn't going over 60mph, my rpms reaching above 4. My car made a whining noise every time i tried to accelerate. So i put my hazards on, took the closest exit, and let my car rest for about 5-10 minutes. I got back on the freeway after resting and not a minute or two later and the same problem occurred. I put my hazards back on and just pulled off on the shoulder, letting my car rest again for another 5-10 minutes. I tried again, now reaching the top of the hill and was able to finally coast down the hill the problem happening again, but this has happened multiple times before. The first in the beginning of july, the second and third around august and september, and then now. It only happens on drives about an hour long (or longer) when i go out of town.
