Description of the problem	I was driving in rush hour traffic, traveling the speed limit (65 mph) when the vehicle began decelerating. The vehicle's speed decreased from 65 mph to 0 mph in less than two minutes. I attempted to accelerate and the rpm indicator advanced; however, the vehicle speed decreased. Without any warning or previous problem, the transmission suddenly died right in the middle of the interstate during rush hour. I was in the center driving lane and was traveling with the flow of traffic. Thankfully, i was able to maneuver the vehicle out of the traffic onto the side of the interstate, where i was stranded for 2. 5 hours. Since my vehicle has been disabled, i have conducted research on other nissan vehicles with cvt transmissions that have had similar problems. There are numerous complaints about the same issues with nissan cvt transmissions. Moreover, nissan has had similar issues with the cvt transmission for over a decade. Despite governmental oversight and the company having to correct defects, nissan continues to manufacture these dangerous vehicles. Life and safety should be a priority for innocent buyers and the general public. My local nissan leadership has diagnosed and confirmed my vehicle's problem and concluded that the cvt transmission must be replaced. Aside from having a defective transmission, my vehicle is in excellent condition.
