Description of the problem	The cvt has lost 95% of the power during driving. Luckily we were only 1/2 mile from home, so we turned around. We had to have it towed to a nissan dealership to have it diagnosed. The dealership told us that the transmission needs replaced at a cost of over $3400. The vehicle only has 77924 miles on it. We asked if it could be rebuilt and the dealership said it has to be replaced with a re manufactured unit. They cannot rebuild the transmission. We contacted nissan to open a case and they said they will not help in the cost of a re manufactured unit or the labor cost. This is a known issue with nissan and previous model years have had the warranty extended to cover the costs. After reading online this appears to be a very common issue with this transmission and could cause an accident or death. Nissan case is under samantha diezman the co owner of the vehicle.
