Description of the problem	June 20, 2016: traveling at 70 mph on i-70 in colorado, less than 50 miles west of grand junction, co, my 2011 nissan rogue, suddenly lost power on a gradual uphill climb. No engine light or warning light was noted on the console. On steeper inclines, the rogue would not exceed 35 mph. Had to activate the hazard warning lights to avoid vehicles, including semi-trailers, from running into the rear of the rogue. This was a nerve-wracking safety concern all the way to grand junction. Took the rogue to the nissan dealer in grand junction. The diagnostic review concluded that the rogue requires a new transmission and cooler. $4655 total. The rogue has 59,750 miles. Have become aware that the cvt transmission in nissan vehicles, including the rogue have a history of failure. After this experience, my wife informed me that she had the exact same problem on a trip from denver, co to reno, nv in march 2016.
