Description of the problem	I bought this car in 2013 used with 38000 miles after about 60000 miles i noticed that at a stop light it would not go when i accelerated and after a few seconds it would go, this happened a couple of times. There was no warranty on the vehicle so i purchased a extended warranty. The next incident was when i was driving all of a sudden the rpm's started going real high and then the car slowly lost powe,r at this time i had about 2000 miles left on my warranty took it into the shop where they could not find anything wrong . I continued to drive the vehicle which by now the warranty has expired. The car was getting to the point that when it happened i would have to pull over to the side of the road to wait and after a few minutes it would gain power again, i then took it to nissan where the told me it was my transmission, i took it for a second opinion where they confirmed it was the transmission which they say is crazing for as little miles and being a some what new car. It cost me 2600. 00 compared to nissan which wanted 3800. 00. The problem i had was that i drive about 84 miles from home to work and it stared to get where i couldn't trust that car. From what i read and was told from nissan is that the altama has very similar problems to where the see a car a day with transmission problems which is not right, why should we consumers get stuck with costly repairs on a fairly new vehicle. My car never had a engine light that came on they only way i knew something was wrong is when the rpm's went real high.
