Description of the problem	While driving down the road i all of a sudden heard a loud smashing sound. The car seized up and the wheels locked. Thankfully i was not on the highway or i would have been killed!! The car was towed and the diagnoses indicated that the u joint had sheared off the drive shaft and pulled out the shifter cable. The entire drive shaft and shifter cable needed to replaced at a cost of 1400$. The car was only four years old and is regularly maintained. In fact during the month of june the car had been to inskip nissan for a oil change and multi point inspection and to a local garage for a state of ri safety and emissions inspection.
