| Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2010 nissan rogue. While driving 70 mph over smooth or flat road surfaces, the vehicle felt as if it were on an incline. The vehicle decelerated to 20 mph. The failure was experienced numerous times. On one occasion, the vehicle decelerated and the contact was able to move the vehicle to the left lane. The contact had to place the gear into reverse and reverse the vehicle in order to shift into drive. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the continuously variable transmission failed. The contact consulted a second independent mechanic who stated that the transmission could not be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000. |
