Description of the problem	I stopped the vehicle with the shift lever in drive. When i tried to shift into reverse to back up i could get no farther than neutral. The release button on the shift lever would not move. I could not get into reverse or park. I managed to get the cover on the right side of the shift lever off and a broken piece of gray plastic fell out. The shift lever release button then worked and i was able to shift into reverse and into park. I have driven the vehicle several times with no more problems. Not being able to get into reverse in a timely manner could cause a serious situation to develop. I saved the broken piece of plastic that jammed the release lever. *js
