Description of the problemLoss of power and juddering (shaking) of vehicle occurred several times while accelerating, driving up hills, driving for extended periods of time (over 1 hour), or when the air temperature was over 80 degrees fahrenheit, all while accelerator was depressed. When i tried to floor the accelerator, the rpm's increased but the cvt did not engage. Had to remove foot from accelerator then reapply, eventually after the car slowed even further, the cvt re-engaged. Worst issue happened while on the i90 interstate, attempting to accelerate and car lost power and juddered almost causing a collision with vehicle behind me. Took vehicle into dealership twice for this issue, first time the dealership could not replicate issue. Took the vehicle back into the dealership within 30 days from original issue and dealership confirmed issue and said new transmission was needed. However, not covered under nissan extended warranty because there were not hard fault codes. Called nissan consumer affairs on in july 2018 who said my vin is not part of any updates/recalls for this issue and would not cover repair or replacement of transmission.
