Description of the problem	Driving on a busy expressway, there was suddenly a loud clanging under the chassis. I started driving slowly and again there was an extremely loud banging against the chassis. Pulled of the expressway when the car suddenly started slowing down. When i started to pull into the first minimall i could find, the car started moving backwards and none of the gears would work. Could not take my foot off the brake as the car continued to go reverse into traffic. Finally after getting assistance from several people helping me get the car into the parking lot, i was able to be towed to my garage, where it was discovered that the drive shaft had broken off, knocking off a piece of the od sensor and then knocked out the exhaust pipe which then snapped off the shift assembly cable and all the gears. My mechanic has never seen anything as bad as this. The car is completely undriveable and i shudder to think what could have happened to my family and myself as we could have been killed. Currently my car is still at the mechanic
