Description of the problem	Vehicle lost power on highway in rainstorm. Were able to steer to side of road. Upon inspection by a mechanic, we discovered the ecm (computer) to be extremely corroded. We had it replaced for $1100. 00. There was no nearby nissan dealer, but the master mechanic who replaced the part did order it from nissan. They would not honor the warranty, as the part was not installed by the dealer. I visited a site, questdriver. Com where i found several similar complaints regarding 2004-2006 nissan quests. Never was the warranty honored because nissan said they would not cover faulty parts corroded or rusty. Many drivers cars stalled in compromising situations, as we did. There was threat of a class action suit, though i don't know the outcome. The ecm i purchased just failed again yesterday. I was approaching a busy intersection, but was able to pull over onto a side road. Had i pulled out into the intersection and stalled, i shudder to think where could have happened. The same part is corroded again. It is a design flaw in the placement of the part, just under the windshield, where it is exposed to rain. Nissan should find a way to shield this part from the elements and honor the warranty or replace the part at no cost. Thank you.
