The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 mph, there was an unexpected increase in acceleration for several seconds. In addition, the engine rpms increased. The contact also stated that the vehicle had sporadically decelerated independently with an abnormal reduction in engine rpms. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken an authorized dealer, who stated that the radiator and transmission would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the defect.
