| Description of the problem | At 35,500 miles the secondary timing chain tensioner shoes failed. The dealer told me that this is a very common problem with the 4. 0l motor. This repair is $1000 and not covered by any remaining warranty. I believe that since thousands of people have had to pay thousands of dollars to repair this defective part it should be a recall. This would be dangerous if this failed while the vehicle was moving at highway speeds, luckily i was driving slow enough to avoid an accident. |
