Description of the problem	My wife [xxx] purchased our nissan pathfinder 2006, her father [xxx] cosigned for her. We had a 36,000 mile warranty on this vehicle. At 40k the fuel gauge stopped working in late 2008, i took it back to benson nissan in easley sc where we purchased the vehicle from new, they told us that it was the fuel sensor inside the tank and would cost us $700 to fix, and would not take care of it, as the warranty had expired and there was no recall on it. I talked to the consumer affairs dept at nissan and they said they could do nothing to fix the problem. When i heard that there was a recall on this, i quickly called them again several weeks ago, after giving my vin # to them they got back with me and told me that the recall did not cover my vehicle!... I argued to no avail.... I have ran out of gas numerous times on the highway, and i keep the milage written down over my visor to try and keep up with it. Sometimes it will show i have gas when i don't, and it has become to dangerous for my wife to drive it so i am forced to drive it all the time. It is a concern and an inconvienience. I hope that you can do something. There are so many complaints about this on the internet that i am shocked nissan is not recalling these vehicles back to 2005 at least.......
