Description of the problem	The fuel gauge in my 06 nissan pathfinder is failing. It has been doing so since last november. Sometimes the gauge drops to "e" no matter how much gas is in it and sometimes it reads there is more gas than there actually is. The service engine light remains lit since the first occurrence. According to the web, the 06 pathfinders built from jan through march have already been recalled. Mine was built in may and the service manager at harrisonburg, va nissan advises i am not eligible for the recall. It is more than obvious to me that my pathfinder, built two months later than the current recalled ones, is having the same exact issue and should also be recalled. I have 3 small children and am very concerned about being on the highway and possibly running out of gas. I carry a full gas can with me, however i do not think this is a safe practice. This is the sixth nissan i have owned since becoming a driver. I have always been more than satisfied with the product. This experience has been quite a disappointment. I am re-evaluating my thoughts on nissan. Please help me.
