Description of the problem	I have a 2005 nissan pathfinder xe 4wd. The vehicle is issuing obd diagnostic trouble code p0463 indicating a faulty fuel level sensor circuit. Doing a quick search online, i was able to determine that there are hundreds of other pathfinder/x-terra/frontier owners having the exact same issue. Also, some websites indicated that this fault has occurred on previous year's models and was recalled. However, no recall exists for the newer models. This is plainly a design/manufacturing fault which should be repaired by the dealer under recall. A safety issue exists because it causes the fuel gauge to misread potentially leading a driver to become stranded w/o fuel. Also, a potential environmental hazard exists as this is part of the emissions control system on the vehicle. Please advise on how the nhtsa plans to handle this situation. For reference: http://x.
